Synopsis
Set before the events of "Mad Max: Fury Road," "Furiosa" follows the origin story of the title character, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. After being kidnapped from her Green Place of Many Mothers, Furiosa becomes a War Pup for the Citadel and must endure numerous trials as she plots her escape through the Wasteland.
Taylor-Joy's Preparation and Role
Anya Taylor-Joy, known for her performances in "The Queen's Gambit" and "The Witch," describes her experience playing Furiosa as "incredibly lonely." She spent months without speaking on set, and fought to scream on camera to accurately portray the character's emotional turmoil.
Additional Details
The film, directed by Academy Award-winning George Miller, also stars Chris Hemsworth as Dementus and will be released in theaters in 2024.
