Bayern Munich eliminated Arsenal from the Champions League
Kimmich's goal sends Arsenal packing
Joshua Kimmich's first-half header proved to be the difference as Bayern Munich knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage.
The Gunners had held the German giants to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Emirates, but they were unable to find a way past Bayern's resolute defence in the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
Kimmich's goal came in the 15th minute, when he met a cross from Thomas Muller and headed home from close range.
Arsenal had a few chances to equalize, but they were unable to find the back of the net and Bayern held on to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory.
The defeat will come as a major disappointment to Arsenal, who were hoping to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2009.
Bayern, meanwhile, will be confident of going all the way in this season's competition, having now reached the semi-finals for the sixth time in the past seven years.
