Bears Safety Eddie Jackson Avoids Surgery

Injury Update

Green Bay, Wis. (AP)

Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson received positive news regarding his foot injury after visiting foot specialist Robert Anderson in Green Bay. Anderson determined that Jackson will not need surgery, providing a sigh of relief for the Bears and their fans.

Jackson initially sustained the injury during the second half of Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite the severity of the injury, Jackson initially believed it was not serious. However, after further evaluation, it was revealed that Jackson likely suffered a significant Lisfranc injury.

Jackson is still seeking additional opinions on his injury, but the news that he will not require surgery is a positive development. The Bears are hopeful that Jackson will be able to return to action at some point during the season, although a timeline for his recovery has not yet been established.
