Italy Win Euro 2020 Final on Penalties

Heartbreak for England as Italy Lift the Trophy

England's 55-year wait for a major trophy ended in the familiar agony of defeat in a penalty shootout as Italy claimed the Euro 2020 title on Sunday.

The match, played at Wembley Stadium in London, saw Italy win 3-2 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 after extra time.

Italy took the lead in the second half through Leonardo Bonucci, but England equalized in the 2nd minute of stoppage time through Luke Shaw.

The match went to a penalty shootout, and Italy converted all three of their penalties, while England's Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka all missed their spot-kicks.

Italy's victory is their first major trophy since the 2006 World Cup, and it is their second European Championship title.
